Happy New Year to everyone! We hope you have had a good start to 2019 and if you managed to go away on holiday or a get a small break let’s hope it was enjoyable for you and your family. Summer is always wonderful and can only lift our spirits. Staff celebrated New Years’ day with a dinner for our residents. We had a dinner party on 2nd for Joseph, one of the staff who was leaving. We welcomed two new staff members on board and hope they will be happy at our facility. Some of our residents have helped with the potting of plants and have also been putting water on the plants in the cool of the evening (very therapeutic). Residents always enjoy the garden walks too. On the extremely hot days residents have been sitting on the deck eating ice lollies to keep cool. Our chef has been making fresh fruit smoothies for our residents in the afternoons too. Mahi (activities) has had our residents making valentine crafts for Valentine’s Day. Colouring-in is always popular with our residents. Adult colouring-in provides stress relief, promotes relaxation and reduces anxiety. Michael has visited with his dog Sam, needless to say, Sam is a popular visitor! We have had our entertainers come in on the weekend which is always well received. Residents enjoyed a bus outing to Hamilton Gardens - more bus trips planned. Hard to believe January has been and gone, enjoy the warm weather and keep nice and cool.
