February was a busy month celebrating Waitangi Day and the Chinese New Year in the same week. Residents made a few more items for Valentine’s Day which was a happy event with a special cake, music and chocolates enjoyed by family members, residents and staff and we also had our Happy Hour on the 23rd.
Welcome and thanks to David who has kindly come in to alternate fortnightly with Reg for our interdenominational church service, to replace Ivan who is not well. A speedy recovery Ivan, our love and thoughts are with you.
There was a bus trip outing for fish and chips and a stop at Huntly Lake.
We have had a very kind gentleman, Graeme Black, who has weeded and replanted the oval flower bed in the carpark and has also helped Claudio (Maintenance) put up our new shade sail on the deck. Residents will now be able to spend more time out there enjoying the outdoors and not catching too much sun. Thank you Graeme and Claudio!
Thank you too to Jan’s sister, Colleen who very kindly brought in a table and chair set for our garden smoking shed - this is most appreciated, especially by Jan.
We are always grateful for any services family or friends can give to our ‘gem’ of a Rest Home.
Appreciate the long summer days until next month and keep well,
Regards from all at Brylyn
