As winter approaches we hope you are keeping safe, staying warm and enjoying the wonderful winter days.
It was another busy birthday month, with four birthdays; these were for Reg Reihana on 1st, Barry Cartmill on the 8th, Ray Park on 20th and Thomas Wilkins on 28th May. They each had their own cake made in our kitchen to be enjoyed by all. Happy Birthday to our four gentlemen!
We had our Mother’s Day celebration on Friday 6th with a gift for each lady of a lovely warm and soft shawl. Entertainers are back! For this occasion, we had Peter Whalley in to play his guitar and sing. Peter took song requests and a good time was had by all.
Anna, our chef, made a beautiful pink heart shaped Mother’s Day cake which she iced and decorated beautifully. Anna’s menu for Sunday had a theme of pink. Thank you to Anna who made the occasions very special.
We also say thanks to Ian Birse who has been doing quizzes with our residents. Ian helps with various other bits and pieces around the facility too.
We always have wonderful photos in our letters and on our notice boards which are taken by our staff; this is appreciated and thanks go to the staff involved.
Bingo is held twice weekly; this remains to be a very popular game. We have crafts, games mornings, and walks outside, weather permitting.
Canine Friends Pet Therapy, religious services and quizzes have been put on hold for the moment. Hopefully we can resume these services soon.
We welcome back the entertainers, enjoyed by everyone, and who are keeping the required distance away for our residents.
Feedback is always welcomed.
Keep well and be safe, until next month,
Regards
Jennifer Slement and all at Brylyn.
