The end of July already with spring just around the corner, an uplifting thought. Roll on those warmer days!
Our birthdays in the month of July were for two ladies, Margaret Job on 22nd and Floss Dunkin on 31st. They each had a cake made from our kitchen to celebrate. Happy Birthday to both women!
We held the Resident meeting on the 15th and the ‘flu vaccinations were done on Monday 19th.
Tuesday 20th was our surprise lunch here for the residents. This month they had Pizzas from Dominoes followed by a Baked Custard Pudding with Doris Plums made by Lin, our Chef.
The Bus trips went out on the Raglan Road to see the Windfarms, to Temple View and Collins Road and then around the Hamilton Lake and also for some coffee trips.
Happy Hour was on Friday 30th. This month we were entertained by a new entertainer, Colin McClure, who did a sing-a-long which residents enjoyed.
The July weekend entertainers were George, Peter, Louise and Charlie and Marlene.
On Wednesday afternoons, Lisa comes in with her dog, Boomer, and Christine brings her dog, Cookie, in on other occasions. This service from the Canine Friends Pet Therapy is much appreciated.
Religious services are held twice a month and a religious discussion in the alternate weeks. We thank David for doing our quizzes. We have daily exercises and Bingo twice a week with games mornings, crafts and walks outside to take in the fresh air and enjoy the sunshine.
Feedback is always welcomed.
Keep well and warm, stay safe, until next month,
Regards
Jennifer Slement and all at Brylyn.
