This has been another hard month with the Covid lockdown. Thank you to all of you for your understanding in this matter as we do our very best to care for your loved ones.
November only had one Birthday, and this was for Ashley Connor on the 10th. A cake made from our kitchen and celebrated with everyone. Happy Birthday Ashley.
A Melbourne Cup celebration was held on 2nd November with a special menu and decorations put up to create a festive occasion. Residents all drew out a horse’s name and 2 prizes were given out to the winners who were Thomas Wilkins and Barry Cartmill.
On Thursday 4th we had a small Diwali afternoon tea occasion with music where some of the staff danced with our residents.
Friday 5th November had a special Guy Fawkes menu day and afternoon tea. Many of the residents did a craft to create a ‘fireworks explosion’ for the centre of the dining room tables.
Bingo is still held twice a week and remains popular with our residents. We have another ‘caller’ now, Floss Dunkin, who is doing a very good job. Thank you Floss. We have games mornings, crafts and walks outside which we encourage – it is always good to get fresh air and to enjoy the garden.
There were no bus trips this month due to the Covid lockdown.
Canine Friends Pet Therapy and our religious services have been on hold. We hope these services will be able to resume sometime soon too.
Feedback is always welcomed.
Keep well and be safe, until next month,
Regards
Jennifer Slement and all at Brylyn.
