The start of a new year and decade. We are having a wonderful summer. Long may this last!
We said farewell to Bunty Meyer on the 11th and we wish him well with his move.
Ken came in from the zoo on the 10th to tell us a little bit about the running of the Zoo and the care of the animals there. This was a very interesting and popular event, enjoyed by all.
We celebrated four birthdays this month - Bruce Ogilvie on 14th, Adrian Ngamotu on 21st, Ian Birse on 26th and Jack Peden on 28th with a cake baked from the kitchen for each occasion. Joyce and Ray Park celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary too. What a wonderful milestone for them.
There was a resident meeting on 20th and we also acknowledged the Chinese New Year.
Residents had our surprise lunch which was from Burger King on Tuesday 21st – the burgers and chips were enjoyed immensely, an occasion that went down well.
The weekend entertainers were Peter, Roy, George and Louise - music is always enjoyed by our residents.
We say thank you once again to our ‘regulars’ who give their time to us. We would love to hear from anyone who would like to give a talk or entertain us, please give us a call to arrange this.
