June 2020
It is just so wonderful to have life back to normal, to be out of the Covid-19 lockdown.
Welcome to our new resident, Raymond Matson, who we hope will be happy here with us in his new home.
Happy Birthday to our three ladies who celebrated their birthdays - Clarice Best on the 12th June, Janet Walker on the 24th June, and Zeena Carr on the 25th June. A delicious homemade cake was made in our kitchen to share and enjoy with all our residents.
We had happy hour on Friday 5th June with Glen Carley, a popular country and western singer and guitar player, our first entertainer back after such a long time with the Covid-19 lock down. A good time was had by all. We also had entertainers in on the weekends – things are getting back to normal.
Reg and Jan are back to hold the church service with David Marshall holding a religious service too on alternate weeks plus David comes in to do quizzes with the residents - a popular man with a quick sense of humour.
We have relaxing ‘foot spa’ treatments on Sundays which was started during Covid and both our men and women are enjoying this treat.
On the 17th we had another surprise lunch – this time it was Kentucky Fried Chicken, which was appreciated and enjoyed.
Bingo is very popular with our residents. We would like to thank Ian Birse who does a wonderful job of ‘calling out’ the Bingo twice a week. He enjoys this immensely, as do the residents, and a lot of fun is had by those who participate. Mahi has kept our residents busy with various games, exercises every morning, walks when possible and lovely music.
Keep well and warm everyone, until next month
Regards from Jennifer Slement and all at Brylyn.
